The Englishman Luke Donald goes off to a flier at the opening round of the Deutsche Bank Championship. He scored a 4-under par 67 and was held in the 10th place.
The current world number 2 hit six birdies at the opening round at TPC Boston in Norton. But there were two bogies that he couldn’t avoid. The topper of that round, Seung-Yul Noh, who scored 9-under par 62 without a bogey, is five strokes ahead of Donald.
Donald started early in the morning and he felt that he was fortunate to have a better weather condition. He anticipated a breezy weather in the afternoon which wouldn’t be a comfortable one for him. When asked about the condition Luke Donald told that the breeze was starting to blow a bit and it was safe for him that he played earlier in the morning. But according to him the pitch was wonderful. He loves to play in TPC Boston because he has a feeling of comfort here, as he argued.
Though Donald has made a really good start but it could have been a better one if he could skip the bogeys in the 8th and 17th hole. He himself said that he was not sure how that happened. Apart from that Luke Donald is having a wonderful time. He thrice finished in top-10 in the last four events that he participated. He also came victorious at the Transitions Championship 2012 where he defeated Jim Furyk and Robert Garrgus at the playoffs.
The Englishman, who lost his number one spot to Rory Mcllory at the PGA Championship, 2012, tried to get it back in the Barclays 2012 but only managed to hold the 10th spot. On this week the world number one spot can again be shifted to Luke Donald because of his double win at the PGA Tour 2012.
